Mine also went up 25% for no reason at renewal this year. I was told it's because of the sex-discrimination thingy, instead of charging the boys less, they're charging the girls more. Also too many compo claims just getting paid out rather than investigated. It stinks. Hoping to lose the motor all together once all these sprogs are in school, bit of a pipe dream atm.

Thanks for that - it has cleared itself after a few more restarts. Good to know it resets itself - at least I know it's nothing serious, and I ought to just use the bloody car a bit more!

The light referred to in the Seat Alhambra manual as Exhaust gas indicator  has lit up on my dash and remains steadily lit (no flashing). Now, I used to get this in my old Punto, and it would go out on it's own when I filled up with nice fresh petrol. My Galaxy is regularly serviced (though it is due now) and hardly driven lately. Could this light be on as a result of me not having refueled since Easter - maybe it's sucking through sediment? At present I'm doing two 2-mile trips a week (walking whilst the weather is nice!) If it is looking to be something more serious I'll need to get it sorted... but am considering doing away with the car all together. Any advice gratefully received x

Sorry, and I'm not even blonde - is that a Mark 2? I need a passenger side rear light assembly - mine is a 52 plate... and a parking sensor. Maybe some more bits if you can do a good deal (and it fits on my car!) If it's alloys I could use the wheel covery bits... the list goes on.

I've had some stonking help from some people on here before, and often check the site out for minor issues I am sure people have had before. I've saved a fortune on sourcing bits and pieces and taken advice on fitting them myself. I've always tried to thank the people who helped me, if I forgot anyone, I thank you now. I would agree with several of the comments above, and have tried to 'vote them up' by pressing on the little green + button, but it doesn't do anything (saying I've reached my quota for this action today (I've never tried it before!!!). Like Dave_G said, go to a dealership.

With regard to the insurance side of things, I saw this on WatchDog (BBC) not so long ago. You do have to inform your insurer (though it would never have occurred to me) as it is technically a modification. However, the insurance regulator said it was out of order for individual insurers to increase their premiums because of a safety minded mod. So, if it should raise your premium, the advice was to complain in the first instance and follow the industry procedure for complaining all the way to the top. From what I understand the big names were the worst offenders and should have had their wrists slapped by now. Having said that, my premium has gone up by over £100 (25%) this year and is still the lowest price I can find (despite NO policy alterations/claims/etc), so I imagine they're just putting all premiums up to garner a bit more dosh from defending themselves in this case. However, if they find you driving about in your winter tyres in June, I guess they'd have cause to invalidate the premium entirely. :blink: EDIT: Just another thought, would you be insured at all driving on a combination of tyres? Two winter and two all weather I mean - that might cause problems with insurance. I imagine they'd want an all or nothing situation.

Is it engine juddering or vehicle 'wobbling'. My wobbling at high speeds was solved with a nice smile to a chap at quickfit. He did something to the tracking, but I had a cup of tea.

Oh, it's a smashing car - I really shouldn't moan. I don't do many miles, so wasn't bothered about the mpg until I bought it and realised how frighteningly low it really is. I can skirt around just under 30 doing the school run, so I'm not crying when I'm at traffic lights anymore. Other than the mpg I have NO issues with the car - sound as a pound, a few nicks here and there, but my kids probably did that anyway. Can't fault it. Even the insurance was a cracker, I'm 29, fully comp, and it was cheaper than on my old Punto (1.2 ELX!). I'm sure they will try to recoup some cash at renewal time... ;)

Ooooh, my favourite subject. I have just maxed out my mpg capability, scoring a whopping 32.7mpg, having zeroed the computer right before hitting the motorway. Makes me feel better anyway.

Can I hi-jack, and also ask what is the most efficient speed for motorway driving? (Automatic)

Thanks for the linky. Can't find the bit about programming the unlock button on the key fob to lower all the windows though - any ideas? I've cheked they all go up or down if I hold the key in the lock/unlock position, but can see immense use for the unzipping the car remotely option. Any idea would be great.
