Starting Difficulties
Philwalfc replied to geoffc's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Did you sort your problem out Geoff -
I will have to have a good look tomorrow and give the proper details. I have noticed it when I pull away mainly on low revs. If I floor it acceleration is excellent.

Hi Guys, I got My new Maf last weekend. Just followed the instructions from this great forum, and fitted in 10 minutes. It really is great to have some acceleration again. Now, I have another small problem. When I drive along I have noticed a dead spot that wasn't there before. Has anyone else had this problem after changing a maf. Cheers.

95mph With A Faulty Maff
Philwalfc replied to Philwalfc's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Sorry, my mistake. Its a 1.9 tdi 1999 model. -
Hi Everyone, Just a quick question. My galaxy has not got any great acceleration around town or on the motorway. It is terrible going up hills. When on the motorway, once it is on the flat or downhill it will reach 95mph. (I mean Kph if any coppers are reading this) ;) . This being so, would it still point to a faulty Maff or is it possible to do 95 with a faulty Maff. Thanks

Well the strangest thing. I bought some rubber lube yesterday took it back home to do the window. Before I messed about I tried the window again and the window closes up perfect, without a problem. So it looks like itis fixed, but I will keep a check on it. Thanks again everyone
-
Yes Popeye. I did the Global closing with the key and it did close the window. But on trying to do it again with the electric control button it does the same thing over and over again, opening to the half way open mark.
-
Thanks mate. I will get some silicon lube tomorrow and give it a try. I'll post to let you know what happens.

Hi everyone, just got back from hols abroad :( :( , got picked up from airport and dropped off in my Galaxy. I went to close the drivers window with the electric control button and had to keep my finger on the button to get it to close. When it reached the top, it opened itself to half way   . I thought being tired I had done something wrong but on retrying again and again, it kept on doing the same thing. I did the global closing with my key and it did close the window, but after once again trying to close the window with the electric control it did the same thing again. Any ideas please. Me thinks I should of stayed in Kos B) B) . Thanks.

Have a look here.http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=7296&hl=servo. Had similar problem, but my pedal was hard all the time.

If you are in the west midlands area, there is a mobile locksmith that should be able to do the job. He did one for me but I did have one key. Cost

Cheers Guys, Sounds like it's well worth a go with the reinforced piping. Where would I get this piping from. Any pointers would be great. Oh, heres a re-sized picture after my masterclass in editing.
-
Cheers for the offer Topbloke. I am in Walsall, West Midlands. I guess that reinforced pipe is stronger than the original from Ford. Just wonder if it will feed around the engine properly. Oh,sorry about the size of the images. Don't know how to make them smaller.

Just a quick update. Sorry, I meant to post this a few days ago. I checked the vacuum pipe from the servo to the vacuum pump, it comes in two pieces with a plastic connector in the middle. I think this helps with routing the vacuum pipe round the engine. There was a split in the end that connects to the servo, a split on the other end of this pipe that joins up to the plastic connector, also a split that joins the other side of the plastic connector going down to the vacuum pump. Here are some pics of the perished pipe from servo to connector. Spoke to Ford parts and they say that they have never heard of these pipes splitting before. Cost for supply only for these two half pipes?

Hi Everyone, If you are still there Andy and Chareliemuttley, Here is my tale. My Central locking was locking then unlocking all in one motion with the remote and door key, sounds the same fault as yours. To cut a long story short and after a lot of checking, it turned out to be the Central locking motor on the faulty door. Cost

Thanks again JaseB, I think I will have a look on Saturday whilst off work. Cheers Phil
-
Thanks JaseB, just got back in from work and seen your reply. I'll have a good look at the pipes to see if there are any splits. I have just done a search on the subject and found the topic you started about brakes. Anyone got photos of these pipes and Vacuum pump. I see Masked Marauder suggested testing the Servo by pumping the brakes. My brakes are solid without pumping them up and do not change when I start the Galaxy. I just thought it odd that the brakes have gone like this after disconnecting the battery for a day and a half. Cheers Phil
-
Hi Everyone, Is it just a coincidence?. I had to take my battery off at the weekend to charge it up. I took it off on Friday evenin, and didn't put it back on untill Sunday morning. I went out about an hour later and had a shock when I had to virtually stand on my brake pedal to stop the Galaxy. The brake pedal was rock hard. I was just wondering if the two were related. Cheers Phil

Did what I didn't do the other day and read the listing on Ebay. Found out :- This is a 'sensor' only auction, it does not come with the housing. Fitment is simple by just undoing 2 screws. What you think.
-
Nice one Seat. Where were they the other day when I was looking at Ebay. Thanks again

Thanks for looking Seat. Where did you get yours from and if you don't mind me asking How much
