hi have sorted the leak out by removing the undr wing and clearing the blockage what i need to know is does it matter if i leave off the plastic/rubber vent ? the small square block that i removed to clear the blockage will it harm the car if i don't put it back on ??

Its mounted on the gearbox, small rectangular block held in place by two spring clips, bit of a pain to get on a V6 but should be no trouble on your 2ltr with all the extra space you have in the engine bay! the switch is located on top of the gearbox on the hump in the box where the selector cables connect, get a new switch as it will give you an idea of what your looking for the reason for the intermittant reversing lights are due to the switch being operated by a pin on the selector mech, the pin being pointed at the end wear's a groove in the plastic part of the switch and hence the loss of lights once the gear stick is released! you could undo the pin and space it out further by the use of a washer but it will only fail again do a search on the topic IIRC a photo of the switch was posted as was the part number

sorry to but in on threan doe's any of you guys know about 1 gear slipping out but it' fine if i hold gear lever . gears don't slip just fist. start to pull away then it slips out of gear what do you think it is before i take it into the garage i got it from. it's under warranty but they can fob me off so i need a little advice plzz

how can you reccomend a garage that's got incompitent people (mech) there you would not be saying that if your child was hurt. i hope they gave you some form of compensation for all the hasstle you had whils it was being sorted atleas a full refund for the brakes they ofiginally fitted

a slight problem ? when i select 1st gear it sometime's slps out when pulling away, if i hold the gear lever it will stay in gear(no slipping out) it only happens on 1st gear, can this be adjusted ? the gearbox seems fine so does the clutch as there is not slipping when driving in other gears etc. it's a manual 5 spd box 2.0 glx petrol

hi my light's come on when i engage reverse then go out straightaway they flash on the off. where is the switch located soz i can sort it & how is it removed ??

my local ford dealer doe's the 2 front's for

leaky passenger foot well. it gets in through the air vents under the bonnet i sorted it but it's such a common problem along with many other thing's. now i am getting wet windows inside the car i have dried out the carpets underlay etc the windscreen keeps misting up all the time unless i use the air con but don't want to keep using it as it's expensive to run it all the time any suggestions welcomed bloody ford still i would not change it for the world as it keeps the little horrors apart

i got 2.0 petrol 1997 my dealer told me it does not need cambelt change as it a chain rather that cam belt is this correct ?? this is from a non ford garage

it's got controls in the roof at the rear so the back passenges can control the air con dies that help ? doe's anyone know what a 2.0 is like on petrol approx ??

i'll be getting my first galayx this thurs it's a 1997 p reg glx it's got air con for front & rear but i was wondering is the aircon vent's in the roof in the rear or sides ? i have looked over the car & made sure all is working which it is but did not take much notice of this also can my kids plug in their ps2 game consols etc in the back ??

hi guy's yhank's so much for all your advise the reason i asked is i got a parker's guide book & it gives me a diffrent measurement that their web site so i did think is was to do with the mirrors will be buying my first galaxy sat 25th & pick it up the end of the week now i know it wil fit in the gararge. one more thing it's a glx but has no sun roof or alloy's that don't bother me as it's got air con. is this correct for this model you think ??
