  1. Sorry I know its dragging on but wife due to give birth to new baby over the next couple of weeks so its not been wise to leave car with a Garage to look over! B) :( (yes another one to the brood) B) As for checks Yes correct oil was used, have checked this with garage. Where are the flaps and i'll have a look (Mt TIS only shows MK1 models) B) Electric fan does work! :) I only re-raised my issues as MatTdi was detailing the same problem as me! :)
  2. If thats the case it cant be down to the head then. The coolant has not had to be topped up since it was serviced 8k miles ago??? U suggest the coolant temp would increase, it does but only cause the oil temp increases to 120 degrees taking the coolant up to 110? B) B)
  3. Sounds a load of cobblers, if you ask me!! Good luck with it, I'm still having no joy finding anything out to be honest. Will keep you updated if I find anything out. I had a diag check done and nothing come of except "Boost Pressure Limit Exceeded" but this was a problem with the turbo cutting out, but touch wood since this error was cleared the turbo's been fine. Do reason for the oil temp to increase as it has been!
  4. MatTDi If it turned out to be the stat and pump etc would it be necessary to change the belt and tensioners, i've just had it done at the garage? Cheers
  5. MatTDi I've got the same problem with mine, biiked it into Seat to have alook at next week, let me know how you get on please. See if I can sort the problem out myself if you have anu joy! Cheers. p.s Good luck with it!! :o
  6. Hi Has anyone had any experience with the VAG-COM program an leads available on E-Bay? Its stats that the VAG COM softare can be downloaded for free and you can get the leads for less than
  7. Stll had no joy getting any more info on the dignostics check. Had a thought over the weekend..any comments would be helpfull.... If the MAF sensor was on its way out as mentioned in previous posts (lost of turbo power etc) Could this link to the above problems, i.e air not being circulated properly and "tricking" the turbo possible making it over work hense icreasing oil pressure etc etc?? Any comments please, dont really want to gp to SEAT and get charged a fortune to find the problem before they even fix it! ;) ;) :)
  8. Well i've just looked into getting it done and apparently the existing tint on the rear windows is green?? The place I went to cannot locate a green tint to match....so more shopping around then!! Anyone else come accross this before....there factory fit wondows so i'm sure someone else has had this problem? :D
  9. Hi Has anyone got abreakdown of what the codes mean please that could possibly be e-mailed to me?? Cheers If you can pm me i'll give you my e-mail address Cheers <_< :D
  10. Been to the garage today and they plugged in a Snap-On Diagnostics machine. Came up 2 error codes Both P17??? cant remeber the last few digits but the descriptions where ECU Blocked Boost Pressure Control Exceeded. The cleared the codes and said to see how it goes as there code book did not have these codes in. Unfortunatley the same thing happened again, the temps when up high again. Anyone got a list if the codes by any chance as the codes are the same as whats on the VAG COM apparently. If anyone has got the codes can you please mail me with them so I can take them in please :D :D pretty please!
  11. thats great thanks for those pics, i'll have a look round for a cheap one now. :D :o :D :D
  12. My MAFS playing up....how easy are they top change/where are they? :( Any pics would be great please? :) :D
  13. took it to the garage last week, their baffled by it all. Their going to plug it into a compuet next week and see if that picks anything up Further things i've noticed are as follows 1. The oil temp increase first then warming the coolant up 2. It only happens when doing 60 mph + for more than about 5 miles 3. When i reduce my speed to 40mph the oil and coolant cools down to normal running speeds 4. Sitting in traffic does not effect the temp at all. God only knows!!  :o
  14. not that i've noticed but the voltage meter seems ok depending on what lights etc i've got on. i'll have a look when it stops raining....a bit too wet!!
  15. My main reason for having a moan at the garage was to do with the oil change....have they ballsed up somewhere etc as that was my initial thought when it first happened. Will have a proper look in the light tomorrow! cheers
  16. Last jaunt down the motorway a few weeks ago the oil and coolant temp went higher than normal 110 degrees OIL and 115 degrees for the coolant temp. Its been ok on driving round town etc. Put this down to the oil change that was due and booked it in for and oil and filter change and the cam belt changing. Had this done Tuesday and have just come back from another short journey down the motorway and the same again oil and coolant temp increased!! As per previous posts it appears that I have got a problem with my MAF sensor. Could the MAF sensor be linked in with the temp problems or do I need to have a moan at my garage about this seeing as they have just changed my oil and filter? Please help....dont really want to go shouting the odds when I dont need too!!
  17. hi ya you had any joy looking at this yet. I lost all my turbo power again the other night. Pulled over turned the ignition of and then re-started the engine and it was fine? Completely confused?!! Not that it takes much!
  18. i've got a similar problem at the moment what was the outcome of yours??
  19. Well there you go.....West Bromwich....thats Yam Yam land not Brum!! <_<
  20. I have a play around when its daylight and i'm not working and see what I can find out....i'll keep you posted. Number 8 is in the oven should be cooked around the beginning of May!! I dont even know where the Royal Oak Road is so I doubt it was me!!
  21. Have just scratching my head at the noise comming from might headlights (when turned on) :) :( I've got a feeling its to do with the height adjustment motor. The noise is as though the motor is trying to move something. Its almots lick a clicking noise. I'm pretty certain its from the height adjustment motor. (i've not moved the wheel to adjust them) When I do move the adjustment wheel the lights move up and down but continue to make the noise. Any ideas where I need to look to adjust the lights/motor or whatever to stop it from making the noise. I dont want to burn the motor out until I can get to a garage cause i've not got a clue what to do. :) :)
  22. The aux heater keeps cpmmimg on willy nilly even when the coolant temp is at 90 degreees for some time. Hopefully winter wont lats too long, i'll put up with the funny stares in traffic jams!! Its proving hard work reassuring the missus the car is not on the verge of take off/blowing up!! :D :D
