Have done 47k with back tyres(Michelin original) but on front have had one pair Michelin, one set Hanook, one set of Dunlop and none seem to last.As the rears are nearly 7 years old I was going to replace all 4 probably with Michelins unless anyone knows of a longer lasting tyre.Any suggestions before I bite the bullet. The back ones are still more than legal but concerned with weakening of walls etc.

Am going to Disneyland Paris with 4 adults and two grandchildren and would like both the childseats on the nearside so adults dont have to climb over one seat then leave O/S passenger seat out to give space and everyone get out on the safe side of the road in France. Can I change the seatbelt buckle over to the other side on the N/S child seat,I thought I read on here that nuts were fitted on both sides but cant find it,probably wrong keywords :-( Be nice to know rather than strip down the seat for no reason

Daventry Council have a weighbridge so next time Im loaded i'll pop up there the user payload on my van is about 160kg I beleive BUT take off 35 kg for motormover,15kg for 110Amp battery ,15kg for a pair of gas bottles and it soon goes down.I put the awning in the boot and heavy tins beer etc but I'd bet I'm close on the van weight and the train weight and theres only two of us.Many people have the Gal for family use and two kids ,bikes and all that stuff could easily go over thats without a roof box.Posters on the Practical Caravan site even say they travel with the internal tank full which is nearly 40Litres splashing around seems suicidal to me but there you go I just put a couple of litres in back of car for tea but I'm a bit of a scaredy cat :-)

your certainly right about the dealers the 1500 is fully loaded and cant be plated any higher if i wanted as Baileys say it is at maximum already.Luckily we dont fill car up,take at back seats as usually there is two adults and possibly two young grandchildren but I'd hate to be pulled and have all the hassle of trying to sort it out as presumably you couldnt even move the car if you were given a ticket without losing a passenger or something, what a nightmare on the way to the ferry. So first thing is to tell the salesman hes not getting any commission of us and if we do want a bigger van it'll have to be a 4x4 .Thanks for all the help anyway

Found it your right 4000,2510 so my Indiana is 1500kg,if I am not fully loaded is that OK or is it the theoretical possible weights as even at the NEC yesterday looked at Eldiss Tornado 1600kgs and the dealer checked and said it was fine, luckily we didnt put a deposit, said we'd ring back but now its looking like the one we've got isnt legal either.

Thanks for that I'll go and look

any idea where the rating plate is I can only find tyre pressure sticker inside drivers door and its peeing down again :-(

Have got the lead and disc,it wouldnt load using XP put it on a memory stick and it loaded from that but it might as well be chinese as I connected it to the purple doodah by the fusebox, turned key on and nothing, then it started raining. Can anyone put a few notes for idiots or is there anyone near to Daventry that I could visit to show me how to start I,m Ok on the spanners but could throw the laptop out the window. Many thanks

carl.a for am manal transmition the weights are kerb 1683-2003 payload 467-787 permissible gross weight 2470 for auto trans kerb 1716-2020 payload 450-754 permissible gross weight 2470 axle weights front 1240 rear 1280 hope this helps This was from another posting I found so 1716 kg would be legal,i.e not more than 100%,85% is only a recomendation.I tow an Indiana with 130 gal and would probably need B+E had I not passed test 30odd years ago.It pulls it very easily and is stable, you would be best to find a weighbridge if you passed your test recently though as you would invalidate your insurance and be driving without a licence effectively(I think)the maximum outfit must be less than 3500kgs if you passed test after 1997

Is it one of these bits that turns on the 'miles remaining' option on the computer that Mirez has? Is there a full list of them somewhere? Really miss that from my old 97 ghia TDi is there a manual anywhere online for using Vag.com,if not looks like an opening for someone knowledgable.

Don,t know about Peugot but my belt(genuine ford) was really tight thought I had the wrong one but hadnt. It was a real struggle and if someone levers it on with a screwdriver it could cause a tiny nick which later breaks.Once belt has snapped who can prove anything

Sorry didnt make it very clear Radio2,the buzzer works exactly as it should towbar on for 5years but youngest grandson has started going with us in van and the buzzer is positioned in the nearsdide rear access panel so whenever it comes on its causing him to hold his ears and cry.Dont want to muffle it much for safety reasons so was going to move it to under glovebox but if I can activate the dash light and disconnect the buzzer that would be better. Dont like posting half a novel but perhaps I should have this time (looks for embarrased smiley) And many thanks for other two replies as well

Has anybody enabled their trailer light with Vag.com The buzzer in the back is driving the grandkids mad
