Whip Crack Noise From Alternator Belt.
davec replied to davec's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Pulled the tensioner back and unhooked the belt, then popped a screwdriver into the alternator fan and turned the pulley, went one way not the other, also was quite smooth and cant see any rust. The tensioner pulley was also smooth when turned.Followed the write up in the FAQ pretty much -
Whip Crack Noise From Alternator Belt.
davec replied to davec's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
It did it first thing in the morning each time I used it over Xmas and New Year. When I took it to my local guy it was warm and didnt do it.I took the belt off and checked the freewheeling as per the posts in FAQ and seems fine also tensioner seems fine.Sods law it hasnt done it since.Baffled but concerned it might let me down, but if all I get is roughness and noise I can get it done then.If its going to break down and leave me/wife stranded thats a big problem. Thanks for the advice -
Has anyone got the sliding floor accessory that they could measure the dimensions for me.I am looking to adapt one for a galaxy for a mobility scooter. Many thanks for any help.

Oh dear not too promising think I'll wait for a TDI 4Motion Thanks anyway I have found a repossessed diesel 4motion thats in a bit of a state but have wondered how feasible it is to scrap it and remove the transfer box and rear drive and axle to fit to my 130 TDI Might see if ther is any info on TIS one prob is its a five speed box and I have a six so dont know if the drive adaptors would be compatible

Am looking at one of these and keeping our TDI galaxy as well for local use V6 for UK towing What kind of MPG should I expect solo and towing and are they prone to any failures Im not used to with galaxy lol Also does anyone insure their cars on a multicar policy, does it work out any cheaper

Galaxy Mis-fuel (petrol In My Diesel)
davec replied to u664541's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Could you tell me if there was a charge,I did it in my old (97 115TDi) Gal and stopped at 1/4 tank finished with diesel and all was well.I thought AA RAC charged for misfuelling would like to be proved wrong -
Swapped the buckle over today and the bolthole is ther as per Mirez's posting.I cannot refit the trim as the cutout is not there for the buckle if I want the seat release knob.I have removed the release knob, only a c clip and spring and fitted the seatbelt trim but the rear knob is not easily accessible.Am hoping that the seat trim 95VWA63904ACW is not too expensive so I can cut a seatbelt recess and have both. It is all on though which is the main thing :-)

Thanks for the reply can you tell me where you got them from.Mine are very small and the ones on my delica are generous, keep rain out there might not be too much choice on the galaxy
-
bought a set of 4 from fleabay, they do work but add a little noise to the (already loud)drive. Has anyone else fitted any, they are easily removeable so no harm done but the tint is useful stopping the sun a little when we get any
-
was going to say they usually have them but your sorted anyway. They(mine anyway) is textured and seems to stop the water blowing from the bonnet Its quite faded now(nearly 7 years) and I tidy it up with bumper black.

Found it post headed Headlamps if anyone else needs it fireski * * Member * PipPip * Add as Friend * PM this member * Group: Members * Posts: 30 * Joined: 28-February 05 Posted 19 September 2005 - 01:42 PM Many thanks for all the help and advice. I've just had a look at my headlamps. (Very relieved that I did not leave it until just before rolling off the ferry/eurotunnel!!) There are a few details that are different to the TIS drawings; i) Behind the rectangular electrical component there is an extra screw that holds the back cover. ii)I could't see any T & O markings. There is a rubber grommet in the back cover that aligns with the internal adjuster. I have drilled the rubber grommet and inserted an alan key through it so as to locate in the adjuster. For the sake of sacrificing a couple of alan keys it will now hopefully be a simple matter of lifting the bonnet and giving each a quarter turn! (Penny pinching for the manufacturers not to have done this in the first place). The lever of each headlamp was in a different position. I have made the assumption that the correct UK position is when the adjuster is rotated a quarter turn clockwise on the nearside and a quarter turn anticlockwise on the offside headlamp. Is this correct? (I think I'd better check after dark!)

Have searched lots and can't find the right term.how do I adjust xenons for continent.I have removed grill, remove 2 torx and loosened two bottom torx, pulled out lamp.Removed grommet, which way do I turn the allen screw for each headlamp. Also read you can cut an allen key down and leave it in,is it likely to damage the adjustment mechanism Many thanks. Had a good day though, serviced Gal,4 new Dunlop fast response, greased spare winch linkage changed the scratched doorpulls and washed the bird poo off the roof,
