  1. Interesting question, R134 will go through any normal “rubber” pipe it would need to be the proper air con rated stuff as there is a barrier built into its construction that stops the gas getting out, ideally it also wants to be clamped onto the pipe using proper crimpers and couplers, anything else will be a waste of cash as your refrigerant will go quite quickly  scrap yard may be better got a few pipes for around the £10 mark. best of luck
  2. When did you last have the pollen filter changed? That makes a lot of difference to the air flow into the cab if it
  3. Does it have rear air con? Follow the air con pipes round the rear of the bulkhead they go to the rear right of the engine bay and you will see the back of the main evaporator looks like a small block of aluminium with a saucer on top, if there are only 2 pipes going in from the left then no rear air con, if you have pipes going in from the left and then out to the right that
  4. If you have climate control that display should flash, I am in the middle of sorting my air con now but can
  5. Mk 2 is the same second batteries under what seems to be the base but is in fact a metal spacer, I am guessing its to improve contact between the batteries.
  6. If you look behind the engine on the bulkhead there is a bank of control solenoids behind a heat shield, the one on the left is the one that has control of the control arm on the turbo. Myself I have been where you are now, checked the turbo arm for movement with a G Clamp from below the engine and the
  7. There are a number of petitions on the site I think this one is the one your after :) http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/UNFAIR-VED/
  8. Thats a good price i would have been happy to pay that...well perhaps not happy but would have paid that amount :)
  9. not an ebay link? sends you of to sedoparking.com ?
  10. Personally if your trying to get the drive shaft out I would take the bolts out of the gear box end support the shaft with some rope and let it drop down to clear the gear box and slacken the cv bolt and hit the end of that and drive the shaft out from the joint! Had to change the intermediate and stub axel on mine a couple of weeks back and came out quite easily, while your at it drop the intermediate shaft off (2 x bolts) and check the splines for grease it
  11. Just to finish the story
  12. Sadly my 52 1.9 tdi turbo is doing this also and seems to be much worse after sitting on the drive for a few weeks wheels up while working on it :32: I have been reading about the control arm for the turbo where about is this located? And for that matter the control valve again how do you identify it? As I want to get this somewhat annoying fault rectified as its taking a pleasant drive into work into an annoying limpfest of frustration. Any pictures / diagrams gratefully received :)
