UPDATE: Resolved matter (I think) i have been under the car today and messed with the factory set actulator, and now my symptoms have ceased, i adjusted the rod clockwise a few turns and the car is boosting at low revs and not coughing or spluttering no more, i did fit the new n75 that did not help. i have done a new log today showing the car running, i believe the rod may require more tweaking (i will see how it goes)

check gear linkage

i have had the vcds back on the car and tested map sensor readings seem fine within spec. checking the air mass meter at idle 903 rpm (car idle lumpy)the reading seem to be fluctuating from 127 mg to 479 mg without aceleration. but when getting the engine to rev over 2500 rpm eventually the reading match the specified... on vcds any ideas please

HI just started car this morning after disconnecting the battery all night, i was told it would reset ECU no differerence, the car smoked like hell for 5 minutes and then i noticed coolent level seemed to be down by about 50ml, could this be my issue. car was also making a dull pop/knock noise while idling.. brake and clutch seem fine

hi car alhambra 1.9tdi 2003 car died with tons of white smoke last week Compressor wheel had damage and too much play in the shaft, turbo seals failed!!! i have since, replaced with a new turbo and oil feed pipe, air and oil filter oil change, flushed all pipework and intercooler cleaned out inlet manifold, replaced new egr and fitted a new Cat. Mass meter is only 12mths old. the issue i am still having is that the car will not accelerate in 1st and 2nd gear unless i rev it up over 1500rpm, and then it goes, but when the turbo kicks in 1800rpm ish it shoots. It does not accelerate in higher gears too, unless i get the revs up by tapping on and off the pedal until the turbo kicks in. It is not smoking,but i get occasional puff of black smoke. the other thing i have noticed is it will not rev over 2000rpm when parked in neutral, as above unless i keep tapping on gas pedal please help also what makes it worse no fault codes are showing up...

hi what could be causing the revs to drop to 600rpm and bounce back to 900rpm ish for about a second for few minutes continuesly causing black smoke and a strong diesel smell when cold starting or every few hours after car has sat. thanks

hi i have changed the pedal with included sensor, but still getting the same code after clearing it using the vag com Signal too high (what does that actully mean in car tech terms !!) Any help available please hope everybody is not on holiday ????

HI You are correct in saying it is a comon fault as on my alhambra the same bracket is cracked. Is the part number of 7M3145846A for the steel bracket or the brittle current bracket fitted to the intercooler/turbo pipe thanks for the detailed post including the pics great stuff..

Hi All i have a error code on Vag Com 1.9TDi 2003 AUY engine 18039 P1631 Accelera.Pedal Pos.Sensor 1 Signal too High car symptoms as in topic title, been happening for about a week, it happens in all gears, throughout rev range, but from stationary it sometimes holds back like its gonna stall. i believe its the throttle position sensor, can you confirm chaps. If so can i buy just the sensor or do i need the whole accelerator pedal. please can you advise, Thanks

hi i get a wobble in steering when coasting at over 45mph only when easing the foot off the acelerator, it can sometimes wobble (side to side) at 70mph or above. Disks and pads changed last month, tried different wheels still proble is there. thanks Harpster
