  1. hi all thanks to this guide, i did my discs and pads yesterday, the hardest part was the calipher mount bolts 27mm, i am glad i had a good ratchet and a 6ft weight lifting bar. i bought my discs/pads off ebay
  2. bigjeeze, how heavy in kilos is the gearbox, did you have to drop engine and remove both driveshafts. I gotta change my slave as the clutch keeps dropping and needs bleeding to make it work, it lasts about 2 wks, then i do it all again. I did what you did with Master cylinder First change in nov 2008, boy is it awkward, took me two days..but the problem still was there Can you give me any advice on the slave and clutch change operation. thanks Harpster
  3. hi :D when starting car in the morning (starts first time) it starts to chug and give off lots of blueish black smoke for 2-3 min, but if i turn it off and start it back it runs alot smoother. it is only on the first starty of the day i get this problem, What can be the cause, Could it be temp sensor/glowplugs or timing problem !! also it is only giving me 360 miles to 55 litres of deisel.. (city miles) was giving me 440 miles
  4. hi all I have been workin on the car today, but i cant remove the whiteish clips on the clutch master cylinder were it connects to the pedal (Metal ball section), there is no room under there...to sqeeze them together, The master is just hanging inside the car !! ;) What other options have i got, can i remove the pedal and then the cylinder off that. I have got the connections off the engine bay and undone both bolts inside the car. thanks
  5. thats the part, MAF, it costs about 50 to 65.00, and takes 5 minutes to fix, two phillips screws to undo.
  6. hi edatelder TIS = is a ford manual for cars MAF = is a Mass air flow meter ISV = is a Idle Stableizer valve ICV = is a idle control valve there you go
  7. Hi Update, diconnected the maf and there was no hesitation of stalling, but there is still a extreme rough sound like a drill or vacuum, when reving, what can this be guys, please advise thanks again :rolleyes:

  9. hi i Have mk2, 1.9 TDI Bamma I have a bad hesitation in the mornings of car judder (revs drop and cars going to stall, it has stalled 2 times) and lots of white smokes also comes from the Aux Heater exhaust for about 5 minutes. It does the stalling only when cold at present, but i think its getting worse as it lasts longer. I also have slight hesitation when driving up the gears. I have been looking at the TIS manual and i can't locate any isv or icv to take of and clean. is there another part i should be looking for ? Could it be the Maf causing this instead or aux heater glowplug !! Please advise guys thankyou

I have had this problem for a while now and i have been surviving by bleeding the brake/clutch resivoir with a bleed kit (ezbleed kit) the clutch used to last for 2 to 3 wks but now only a few hours unless you keep driving in city streets continuelly. What happens is the clutch drops to the floor by morning or few hours. I have to pump the clutch until it gets resistance so i can get it in gear and it also keeps sticking half way up when the resistance has built up. Even if i re-bleed it with the resistance it is the same by morning. Also if i drive down the motorway for a few miles the clutch falls too and i have to pump to bring it back up. There are no fluid leaks in the system as i have been monitoring it for a few weeks. Would it be the master or slave. You all know how much of a big job it is on these if it is a slave. Can it be breather connection I have bled it in reverse too from slave upto master cylinder to rectify the problem, but no luck.... Give your opinion before i have to spend what i aint got (credit cards) ;) time for a bottle of Newcastle Brown.

  16. hello again i have cleaned the map and tmap and removed the fault codes and they have not yet come back, but first thing in the morning i get a engine judder (like it going to stall) for a couple of minutes every 20 to 30 seconds and rich fuel burning smell from exhaust. :D I have not yet tackled the following: 01189 - Front Air Distribution Flap Motor 01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap 01314 - Engine Control Module 013 how do i bypass the temp sensor and do i have change all glowplugs too :o
  17. hi I think i have rectified my alarm problem. Its been 4 days and it has not gone off ! I took out the ultrascan sensor on the driverside B piller and cleaned it and put it back in Also Seatkid the my alhambra has no units under any seats, all electronic working are from the electronic module in the engine bay the manual states thanks
  18. my alarm keeps going off on its own, when it feels like it! AGAIN it does is mostly when i get to work in the mornings, after about 20 -30 minutes and then throughout the day every 30 minutes. I have had the battery checked and it is at 12.64 on the volt meter at kwik fit I have also checked the rubber grommits on the doors and bonnet, but they all seem fine with no splits. Its driving me nuts, any help Thanks Gregers and NikpV for your help

  22. Hi :rolleyes: My alarm kept going off the other day, about every 20 mins, i locked the car door with the keys, and turned them twice witin 2 secs, and the alarm didn't go off again. Since then it has been fine when i have locked it with the Fob :angry: But while i locked the car with the keys i found if you keep the key in turned position, the windows Come down passenger and driver side !! Nice idea for a hot day ;)

  25. Hi All, Hope all is good, I just need a some advise please, Yesterday i noticed my left & Right Inner boots have split, What would cause both to split. (general wear) Would this relate to notchy gear change and bad pick up in 1st and 2nd Gear (very sloppy) Or is that me as i had a auto 2.0l Mondeo before. Also when changing from 1st to 2nd i also get a jerk and sometimes a crunch. Is it a driveshaft failure or may it be gearbox. It is a Alhambra 2003 model 1.9 TDI S (AUY Engine) Thanks in advance
