I was just wondering I always do my own service I have done on all my cars but they are getting more technical. I always change the oil and filter, air filter if its dirty (don't do much milage) I was just wondering when to change the spark plugs if the car is running fine do I need to change them. Also could yould maybe enlighten me to what the MAF is, and what it does from what I have read on the forum it can be a problem so would it be easier to change it during the service.

Something that I failed to mention RAC technicians installed it they put in a speaker behind the facia a button for comunications a microphone and an arial about the size of a tax disc which they put on your screen this all done discreetly and you have to look for them although you can't see the speaker as it is behind the facia but they do a good tidy job. Just going off the subject do you do your own service?

I paid by debit card so it was really handy I don't know what would happen if you didn;t have it with you though but im'e sure they wouldn't let you down I would'nt of thought.

Well everything has its pros and cons the satnav would cost a lot if you did a lot of motoring. Evertime I ask for a route they charge me 12 pence I think. I don't pay a subscription I pay as you go. You buy blocks of

Do you mean a non ford radio that could be an option if it worked the multichanger. I don't have the remote stalk on my gal so nothing lost there. When I changed the radio on my old vauxhall which had the radio controls on the steering I lost the use of these.

Topping Up Brake Fluid?
skippy 2 replied to Deanoecosse's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
I agree with you on this when I got my gal it took me ages to find the brake fluid reservoir. I ended up looking in the haynes I think. Im'e not sure but I thought I read that you take the bulkhead off just below the screen in the engine compartment held by 3 bolts. This gives you better access. Also what does this mass airflow thing look like I have read alot about it can anyone advise? -

I should think a ford radio would be quite expensive buying one on ebay could be an option what do think? Or from the breakers. Its just a risk if it does'nt work the interchanger. There ia shop called in car solutions that could advise I might ask there first.

mk2vr6 thanks for your quick response if I take it out an bin it will I have to replace the interchanger or will it work with the replacement. Should I replace with a ford radio I would want something that matched the facia.

Do you think that the headlight adjustment would be the same as standard or would they be manually adjusted? I just wonder what else is involved with changing them, they do look nice though!

Just thought after reading through the forum reference to Tom Toms well I have a Smartnav system that I got through my insurance. All you do is set up an insurance policy for your car and with a once off payment you get an up to minute satalite system. It's great!!

Just to add to that I used a flat bladed screwdriver between the door panel and the door body and gently prised it off going round all the clips. There were 9 on the front door don't forget to disconnect the electrics on the door switches you don;t want to do any other damage.

I like them I think they make the car look classy. Is it a standard conversion or is it something that had to be specially made. was it a lot of dough?

Thanks mate I was told it could be a parking beacon by the guy I bought it from but I was'nt entirely convinced. You say you have seen them before well I haven't guess I haven't noticed on imports. It is a first for me. I was thinking about using it as a flag pole for when england went to the euros. Well thats the end of that . Has anyone else out there got one of these? I wonder why they didn't put one on the back. Having said that they did put those ugly looking mirrors on those previa type models from japan.

Could someone identify an added extra to my gal. The car has been exported from japan and noticed what seems to be an aeriel on my front bumper on the near side. It is electrical with a switch on the facia below the steering wheel. When extended it can be seen from the drivers seat it also has a green led on top when the lights are on I have been told it is a parking beacon can anyone advise?

No its all pictures and ticks and crosses but the chassis number is on all the papers. She is a 1998 Ghia 2.8 with the VRS engine.
