  1. Have the header tank sniff tested. If it is not the head gasket (and most likely it will not be, the sniff test is the easiest first test) then the water pump has almost certainly stopped working correctly.
  2. http://www.jennings-ford.co.uk/service/parts.aspx The engine in your car was fitted to Scorpios and Mondeos I think, so should be common enough parts. Where about in the country are you?
  3. The lambda will most likely be seized in and will need a oxy-acetylene torch to remove it, so I would fit a new one. Universal ones are no good, you will want one that is specific to the car, make sure of this when you buy it, ask to make sure it is not a universal. If your pocket can stand it you can do no better than to buy it from Ford. If not try to get one from a factors such as Partco rather than a parts shop, your more likely not to get fobbed off with a universal one then.
  4. Yes, just hook up VAG-COM, go to the heater module and scan it, then clear the codes. If it then fails five times in secession then most likely you need a new glow-plug. It is an easy job to remove it and test it, but the plugs are available quite cheaply now so if it was me I would have one on hand anyway.
  5. Well mine has never done it before, even in minus 10 in the Cairngorms, so I don't think it is a frost warning.
  6. On the last few (cold) mornings my Alhambra TDi has been beeping when I turn the key on. Am I correct in thinking that this means the battery is being detected as having a low voltage? The green indicator on the battery suggests it is fully charged, so I may have a cell collapsing if it is low voltage.
  7. It is an old, old post, the images were probably deleted by the site that was hosting them.
  8. Rear engine damper may be broken allowing the engine to rock?
  9. Oil can sit in the evaporator meaning it does not all get recovered with an evac, you really need to power flush the system to get most of it out.
  10. Sometimes the fuel in the tank can slop about making a thud right under the driver's seat. Normally if you have about three quarters of a tank or so.
