  3. I've been called many things before - but never cheap!!!!! What a cheek .... LOL As for your wife being expensive gregers - lets not get start on who's beloved wife costs the most to run - would be a longer thread than this one may turn out to be. Mak - I will up the offer to
  4. Fair Nuff Stevie m, Now that I have raised your max bid, I will sit back and let everyone else have a chance before gazumping you all with a stealth offer ;) I'll be watching - always watching.......
  5. Stevie m This could be a long slow bidding war unless Mak decides to keep the Gal. But if he doesn't - I'll up my bid to
  6. Stevie m I have already offered
  7. Hi Mak I tend to agree with gregers on the Mk2 vs Mk3 - until they sort everything out (prob 2010 at least) but if you do want to sell, I will offer mumof4's veccy value - and that was a good valuation from carcraft ....... Welcome to the site - and a great site it is too. Russ
  8. Thank you Comhander I have just had a look and asked the seller to confirm fitment for my vehicle. I will keep all posted Once again - thank you
  9. Hi whitty I do have a drawing if that helps, but you have a couple of options - 1) I post a pic on this site and you will have to work with what comes out, or 2) If you or a mate has 'AutoCAD' I could email you a copy of the original, or I could send you a full size .jpg pic - just PM me with your address Let me know if option 2 is best and I will sort it for you, else - pic below PS - if you do have AutoCAd, as you know you could plot at 1:1 and just cut from the template - easy The material used was 1.5mm (16 guage) mild steel, and the keyholes were positioned to suit 2 off M4 x 20mm button (or dome head) screws Any questions - please ask Cheers Russ
  10. A quick update - Just rung a couple of Factors and had a look on the net and prices range from
  11. Thanks for that 'Beyond Help?' I will look into New joint costs as that seems sensible to me. I will keep you posted as to what I do and or find Cheers
  12. Hi all. An easy one for all you experts I am sure. I am sure that I will be replacing my near side outer CV boot as I have just spotted a split in it (after spotting the grease). Is this an quick easy & cheap - Ha ha - job for Frauds (as I am booked in for a service and MOT in the next week) or is it easy enough for me to do and at what cost??? Hope you can help Thanks
  13. No probs Steve I will try and sort a pic for anyone who may wish to make a bracket like mine for thier Garmin, but I will look forward to your solution with interest. Happy New Year to you all Russ
  14. Hey there Steve Sorry for the delayed response - Crimbo has been getting in the way. Not sure which model mine is and I haven't got it with me to check, but the traffic thingy has no illumination but seems to connect pretty much straight away but I have not as of yet noticed it actually doing much as I don't use it very often. I run the lead straught from the side of the unit back to the screen, then use the two suction pads to run along the bottom of the screen to the right. It works for me. I will have a look and check the model No. for you. Whitty - I may have my original drawing still, I could check for you - is it possible to send a pic on this forum or would I have to email? Did you make yours up yet Steve?
  15. I'm sure the Mancs are a fine lot and wouldn't dream of removing a SAT NAV at Christmas from a car parked in a masive car park and left for hours unattended. I trust you don't have your home address logged on it ...... Having come from Brizol I know you wouldn't leave one on display there either. Hope all works out OK
  16. Oh how I would love to buy a lovely new mondeo Bleeno, but SWMBO and the tight purse string prevent such an extravagant but much desired purchase. On that note - how much space does the rear seat provide? I have three kids, two of which are using booster seats - would these all fit? Cheers
  17. Hi guys I too had the usual 'where do you put the Sat Nav' question. I wanted the unit easily visable but hideable. I came up with a solution that the wife was happy with too. I have a Garmin nuvi which came with the suction mount as standard. I didn't bother using the suction cup, and made a bracket which fixed to the back of the remaining mount. This bracket secures to the side of the centre pocket using a 'keyhole' fixing so the bracket can be removed and stowed in the centre bin when not in use. The power lead and a lead for the wired FM modulator are fed down through the back of the bin and down behind the dash where they are wired behind the stereo. Just another solution for you to have a look at (as long as the pics upload) Any questions, please ask away. Russ
  18. Thanks guys. I took one of the seats out to give me a 2-2-2 formation - so I can see just a little bit of the rear window providing the kids are'nt watching a DVD on the roof mounted motorised monitor. I shall look into the VAG com thingy as soon as I work out what it is. Cheers
  19. Hi there all. It has taken me nearly two years, but I only noticed the other day that the wipers on the Gal automatically switch from coninuous to intermitent when the car is stationary. What a great feature - thing is - I only noticed it because the day before I spotted the same feature on my BMW, also after nearly two years. Duuuhhh!!!! My question is - Is the rear wiper supposed to switch into full time when reverse is engaged and the front wipers are on continuous??? If so, any ideas why mine doesn't? If not - can this feature be added???? Any thoughts would be great Russ
  20. Can anyone explain why my aux heater will choose its own start up temp? Two weeks ago, 12.5 and its going, last week 7.0 and nothing, today 11.0 and working - does it get the weather forcast from the internet? The one thing I can say is that it always fires and works well. Its not a great problem as when it is cold it does the job, I am just intruiged, Cheers
  21. Hi all I too have a misting screen, but then I always have. My aircon doesn't work which I know doesn't help ( I appreciate the drying function but can't justify repair costs at the mo), but there again the force of the fan onto the screen is pathetic. I'm sure if I blow hard when sat in the drivers seat it would double the airflow and efficiency! Are all Galaxy's the same? Yes the heated screen does help but that isn't the answer. Should the fan actually be able to clear the screen? Thinking about it, the screen will mist on a damp day with just two passengers.... is this right? The car is bone dry inside. Just as an additional point, I had a leak into the passenger footwell from the rear screen washer pipe last year. There is a push fit union just under the door side trim and it had been dislodged somehow. I cleaned the joints and pushed back together then taped it so as it wouldn't come apart so easily in the future. All seems OK since. Any help / pointers would be appreciated Russ
  22. Hi all I too found it easier to remove the whole headlamp unit. I used a 1/4" drive torx bit on an extension bar to access the lower fixings and I loosened the grille to aid removal of the unit. It only took a few minutes and beat trying to stuff my fat mit through the stuck access hole in the liner - in the dark. Is it worth replacing the lamps with LED's to prevent having to replace them any time in the future?
  23. Have a look at the TIS CD I gave you, I'm sure all will be in there ..... hidden in the depths of strange directories etc Have Fun :angry2:
  24. Hi all My brother had an engine power loss issue with his '04 115 Tdi, and it was still under warranty. It was taken to his local Ford garage where they replaced the Turbo and all is fine now. I will give him a nudge and try and find out some more details for you to see if it is similar.
  25. I know that my 2002 MkII TDi has a VW 6speed box - but the parts are still cheaper from Ford than from VW even though the Ford box contains VW parts .... How? Why? Who knows but I'm happier its that way than the other.
