Hi, 2009 Galaxy 2.0tdci cut out on the motorway and has refused to start since. Diagnostic shows a fuel pressure regulator fault and a low fuel pressure fault. Previously the car had become difficult to start first thing in the morning but then would start and run fine all day. I had noticed more black smoke in recent weeks as well. I plan on changing the regulator anyway but has anyone experienced this before and is it a simple as changing the regulator or will it go back to the fuel pump. I've just noticed that there appears to be no glow plug warning light, as I know one, on the dash display. There is a snowflake symbol which illuminates orange I believe at a temperature range of 0 to 4 degrees C, and then red at below freezing. I have seen the snowflake symbol light up, which to me would indicate that the temperature is definitely low enough to see a glow plug warning lamp. The car starts first time so there appears to be no issues. Do these cars have glow plug warning lamps on the dash display? If not how do you know if the glow plugs are ready/working as they should? I have a 1996 Ford Galaxy, the problem is that I can't "hear" the turbo start, it doesn't go faster than 120, it barely goes on hills, I went to several mechanics, several test machines were used, no one can find anything wrong! The injection pump was replaced but the problem continues! It is consuming a lot of fuel and smokes a lot!
