had new tyres from etyres.co.uk got me some nice pirelli l6 citynets, i did order powergys but fitter came with these, 195/65/15 95t reinforced,

We do have a discount with....my tyres i think it is???will have to check......so you have 15in alloys?????

 

Sounds like a good price...but i wouldnt know for 15in ones.

nope ... 15" are steel with wheel trims (usually on Aspen or LX models or VW/Seat equivalents) 16" are alloy (zetec, Ghia, Si etc)

My old Mk1 GLX V6 Gal had steelies as well - only Ghias and Ghia X's had alloys in the old days.

Just an update on the Pirrellis I have on, I find them brilliant after 6k of motoring, mainly urban but about 2k on motorways, still got 8mm of tread, excellent cornering and braking and no more wheelspin on wet uphill starts, the ride is a little hard though at Fords reccomended pressures (I've dropped mine by 2 psi), Road noise is extremely quiet even at 85mph :angry: , water displacement is again brilliant. If you mainly do urban driving I'd defo reccomend these.

 

 

 

I know these are a van tyre but when fitter turned up I spoke to Pirrelli UK and they said they are ok for Galaxy and similar.

My bad .... :( why would they put smaller alloys on the "sports" version though? :lol:

 

Always meant to ask, how come yours is an SI on a 99V plate? Thought they only did LX Zetec and Ghia/x then? :angry:

it says on my documents its a glx but its got si on the side has full body kit as standard, non swiveling front seats, leather steering wheel, leather hand brake grip and gear knob/gaitor, silver surround on instrument panel, seven sports seat in Kappa Bluestone trim so u tell me :angry:
