SwFsnapper Posted May 20, 2006 Report Posted May 20, 2006 Hi, I appreciate that this is a Galaxy forum not an Alhambra, but there isn't much info out there... I bought my first Alhambra 1998 2.0 the other day and so far I am very pleased. Unfortunatly, for the last few days the alarm (OEM) has been going off (Only once a day) without reason. 1. Has anybody had the same problem? 2. Does anybody know the system setup where the sensors are what type they are, where the horn is? 3. Does anybody have and ideas or suggestions on how to disable the alarm or the noise it makes. I have searched all over this forum and others without any joy. Many thanks in advance. SwFsnapper Quote

SwFsnapper This can be considered as much an Alhambra/Sharan forum as Galaxy! There is no snobbery or elitism in here! My alarm goes off randomly, your not alone! The ultrasonic sensors are in the "B" pillars behind the driver and passenger front doors. Do you have a remote fob? If so pressing the lock/arm button once arms it, pressing it a second time immediately after the first time disarms the ultrasonics and that is the most likely culprit. A change of temperature can set them off! Quote
SwFsnapper Posted May 21, 2006 Author Report Posted May 21, 2006 Hi, Thanks for your reply, I should imagine with the lack of tinted screens the tempreture variation through out the day is large and I can see now why this would cause a problem. I wonder if disconnecting the sensors in the "B" posts would resolve this problem which would obviously render the alarm less then perfect but save a lot of hassle with double clicking (My wifes key), or as with my key double locking the lock (also has the same effect of turning the alarm off)? Thanks for the support and I'll post here again if I resolve the issue. SwFsnapper Quote
