johnkg Posted June 8, 2005 Report Posted June 8, 2005 I have a 97 Galaxy and was faffing around with the brake light switch (as you do) when I noticed the footwell courtesy light had come undone from its housing. Went to plug it back it and CLICK the light went off and I assumed I'd blown the bulb. Checked bulb (which is fine) and have now noticed all my interior lights don't work. As far as I can I can tell all other equipment works. The Manual says its fuse 21 BUT I don't have a fuse in position 21! Have tested most of the others and they seem fine. The diagram stuck below the fuse panel also seems completely at odds with the manual. Does anyone know which fuse it should be, or whether it is a fuse? Thanks in advance John Quote
johnkg Posted June 9, 2005 Author Report Posted June 9, 2005 Still stumped. Here (should be) a pic of the diagram of the fuse box. Can anyone tell me which fuse is for the interior lights? cheers Quote
seatkid Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 If its a 97 spec car - Check F30 (10A), F21 (15A) and F16 (3A) if its a 98 spec car (which I suspect it is) - Check F55 (5A) and F53 (10A) Look and count carefully, its easy to get confused which fuse is which Quote
Masked Marauder Posted June 9, 2005 Report Posted June 9, 2005 Is yours a post August 97 model? If so it will have a row of mini-fuses at the top left of the fuse box and your looking for fuse 53, it is 10 amp and the third down from the top. My 98 Alhambra has the wrong fuse box information, it has the pre 1997 Quote

johnkg Posted June 9, 2005 Author Report Posted June 9, 2005 Yep, its 53. It looks as though I have a Aug 97+ spec Galaxy with a 97 Handbook, which seems to be for an earlier model! Thanks for your help guys! Quote

MR310 Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Just bought an 03 plate Seat Alhambra, got it home and found that the interior lights (that were working on test drive) were now not working. Thanks to you guys on here I replaced good old fuse 53 and now have interior lights again. I also noticed by accident that the same fuse (53) is used for the electric mirrors too. Thanks for your help! Quote
chrispb123456 Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Ah Ha then you may have some dodgy wiring in the door gaiters. Quote
