er in doors wants to learn to drive and she thinks our ford galaxy is too big for her (huh) SO..... are there any major problems to look out 4 with these cars i need an auto model for her,are there any real issues with the auto box and any specific models to get or even stay away from any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Andy,

Focus, good choice :)

No real faults with the current auto models. Earlier 1.6 Auto's were plagued with leaks from the gearbox, but resolved from 2001 models onward.

Infact, an LX 1.6 Auto would be my reccomended choice for her. :)

Other than that, a 1.8 Auto, but that may be a bit too much grunt for pootling around town :)

she feels more confident with an auto the gears get her flustered.

i dont care really,she can then use the car for the school run.in the last 3 yeasr my galaxy has done 9500 miles what a waste,and christ buses cost the earth.
