  1. Could well be the throttle position sensor sticking.
  2. An incredibly common problem, not the Aircon though! It is caused by the pollen filter cowl not being sealed correctly, it's the bit in front of the passenger side wiper. Have you had it serviced recently? Sounds like they didn't seal it properly if so go back and get them to remedy it f.o.c. Alternatively, you can do it yourself with some butyl tape, available from ford. 1. Remove centre screw cover-simple clip off. 2. Run fingers under the screen edge of the panel to release the butyl tape. 3. Open bonnet and release the clips along the bulkhead-press in the tag and lift up. 4. slide the panel towards the center of the car-to remove the panel and leave the clips in situ on the metal panel under the screen. To Refit the scuttle panel 1. release clips from the bodywork- press inwards the two outer tags of the square clip that is in the bodywork and remove both parts of the clip as one piece. 2. Remove all traces of the old butyl tape from the under side of the scuttle, this should mostly peel off you may need a little white spirit or similar to remove all traces. 3. Renew the butyl tape. 4. slide the clips back into their locating pionts on the under side of the scuttle. 5. clean the bottom edge of the windscreen. 6. Lift the panel back into place locating the square clips into their square holes in the bodywork, clip the bulkhead clips into place and apply light pressure along the line of the butyl tape. 7. Replace center screw and cover. The trick is to remove both halves of the clips from the bodywork and clip them together before assembly. Trying to push the male and female parts of the clip together whilst the female part is still in the car is where most of the trouble arrises, as it is very hard to line up without being able to see it
  3. Should be dead easy to change. Access to the bulbs is from the inside of the boot, they should be of the twist-release type. Dave
  4. This is a very well known fault with the focus. You might be lucky and be able to get your dealer to repair it under warranty, if not, call Ford Customer Services and give them some grief, thy may offer to pay for a large chunk of the repair cost. Dave
  5. Hi Andy, Focus, good choice :) No real faults with the current auto models. Earlier 1.6 Auto's were plagued with leaks from the gearbox, but resolved from 2001 models onward. Infact, an LX 1.6 Auto would be my reccomended choice for her. :) Other than that, a 1.8 Auto, but that may be a bit too much grunt for pootling around town :) Have a look on Honest John for a good rundown on what's what. Cheers & good luck! Dave
  6. Out of the whole range from CL, LX, Zetec, Ghia, the Zetec is considered to be the 'sportier' handling model hence the firm suspension. The only way around this would be to either fit an aftermarket set of shocks / springs, or replace with a set from a Ghia. If you do go down this path, Eibach is a really good make. :) Dave
  7. You can get them cheaply, and legit, from Environ: http://www.environcarsales.co.uk/used_parts.htm or FMS Spares: http://www.fms-ford-spares.co.uk/catalog/default.php Dave
  8. I don't know if Galaxy's share the same procedure, but this is how it's done on the Focus and Mondeo: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=3445 Dave
  9. Also, try entering your reg no on http://www.fordserviceonline.co.uk and see what details it returns. The TDCi should also have a badge on the rear of the car. Cribbed from elsewhere: So I'd say that you seem to have a 115ps TDDi  Dave
  10. The MKI Mondie (1993 to 1997), had the 1.8 TDi which was 88ps. The MKII (1997 to 2001) also was a 1.8TDi, which was 90ps. The MKIII (2001 to present) is the 2.0 Duratorq Diesel, which comes in 115 or 130ps flavours, and a 2.2l 155ps unit. Cheers, Dave
  11. Hi Tommy, Plenty of people have had issues with this, and there was even a safety recall in some countries in Europe regarding it. Ford UK have a technical service bulletin along with ECU & EPB software fixes available to them, although not all dealers have made customers aware. Below is a link to the Ford Focus Owners Club, who have an extensive forum for the C-Max along with details on known faults. Maybe of some help to you in the future: (not meaning to take anyone away from this forum, just that the FFOC has alot more Focus related info / help  ) http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=95 Cheers, Dave
  12. Hello mate. Procedure is as follows:
  13. No specific solid dog guard listed as available yet from Ford, however, I have been told that there is one listed on the dealers accessory list. Wether this is a proper one, or just a variant on the seperator that Fred mentions, dunno. Could always email sales@dogguards.co.uk and see what they suggest. Cheers, Dave
  14. Okies, thanks chaps. So I guess that puts an SE at Ghia level? SA, pics would be great! I've found many of the exterior which look fine, but I'd appreciate any cabin / interior pics though! How does the build quality of the interior compare to the Galaxy? The only reference piccy I could see suggested more of an overall greyish plasticyness  Cheers! Dave
  15. Ok, so I am familiar with Fords spec range ie CL / LX / Zetec / Ghia and what level of equipment / trim they have as standard, but what about Seat for the Alhambra's? More specifically, the 2003 130ps SE model  Interior pics seem to be like Hen's teeth, Seat's site doesn't show a great deal. If anyone can help, thanks! :D Dave
