Guest FirewallXL5 Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 Hi Forum, I have just bought a Ford Mondeo Ghia Estate, 2 litre (1998cc) Diesel TDDI. It is definitely a TDDI and not a TDCI. How can I tell the BHP version of the engine. My company car is a TDCI and it says 115 as you open the bonnet, but the TDDI does not. I have been told it is probably a 90 BHP, but when I searched for an insurance quote, I entered the registration and the description said '115' after the 1998cc. All the other details are correct. My question is: Could it be a 115 in a TDDI or is it 90, or is it something else. How can I find out? Your help is appreciated. Quote
Daveyboy Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 The MKI Mondie (1993 to 1997), had the 1.8 TDi which was 88ps.The MKII (1997 to 2001) also was a 1.8TDi, which was 90ps.The MKIII (2001 to present) is the 2.0 Duratorq Diesel, which comes in 115 or 130ps flavours, and a 2.2l 155ps unit. Daveyboy Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Also, try entering your reg no on http://www.fordserviceonline.co.uk and see what details it returns. The TDCi should also have a badge on the rear of the car. Cribbed from elsewhere:There were TDCi's available on a 51 plate, but not many. The engine was launched in December 2001 so there were 3 months where it was available on a 51 plate. If its in England and not an import, its a 115. The 90 was never sold here. So I'd say that you seem to have a 115ps TDDi  Dave Quote
