Rear Brakes can't/won't bleed.

Recommended Posts

Car is mk1 Ford Galaxy Ultima 1997 2.8 V6.....not many left I suspect!!!!

Anyway, failed MOT on rear brake line behind middle exhaust box heatshield. Replaced failed section and that parallel to it (probably next to fail!) using flaring tool and joining unions..good job so far. However tried to bleed brakes.... no fluid at both rear bleed nipples, fronts ok. Used "buddy" system, pressure bleeder, and suction syringe, still nothing coming through!!!  Does this car have a proportioning valve that has blocked off the rear pipes (I can't see one or find any reference to one) or is the ABS unit stopping normal bleeding? I've seen reference to Forscan VIACOM  or abs bleeding using a good scantool but I suspect the car is too old for any of these to work successfully!

Anyone out  there got any ideas about this?
