Hi all,

Not been on here for a while, but have just sold my mk2 2003 galaxy tdi and got a mk3 2008 2.2 tdci ghia. Will be posting some info on diagnostic stuff soon as I have just purchased a bluetooth obd adapter (and torque pro app) and also a modified elm adapter for forscan and elmconfig.

Pleased with the new car apart from gear box which doesn't seem as precise as the old galaxy and it has a small oil leak.

Could anyone identify what this engine component is in the attached pictures that oil is coming out of? Seems to be coming out all the way round it under the lip. And any idea how to fix it please?! :)

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Nick

Yes it is an engine mount, it must be fluid filled (hydraulic) like a shock absorber.

Thanks for confirming. I've just had a quick google and found several references to these leaking. Looks like a new one will set me back around 120 quid. Need to get the car in for a cambelt so will get this done at the same time.

Cheers,

Nick

OK. Just making sure you was aware and not thinking it was like the MK2. By the way my auto box just had a software update and is now nice and smooth. Not sure if a non dealer can do it though.

I've got a manual box - does the auto box have some electronic module that can be programmed then? Just noticed that your 2.2 has 200 and mine is only 170ish... ;) ... how did they gain the extra 30bhp in the newer ones?

Also - do you know why my signature is showing as my old car?? I've updated my profile...

Thanks,

Nick

My car is like a mobile computer. Sorry I didn't notice yours was manual. I would imagine the extra power is done through remapping but I don't really know, goes well though.

If you put a message up asking Admin to update your profile, that's what I had to do. I also ended up with a go faster scooter on my profile...........................................
