chromedome Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 Does anyone know how to replace the front sidelight bulbs on a MK3? Thanks Quote
chrispb123456 Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 There are either one or two bolts to remove, early pre 2010 2 bolts later 2010> one bolt through the access hole in bumper under lampThe book says remove the lamp by pulling down at the top this releases the two plastic tangs at the top edge, once release pull lamp forward. In practice this is not that easy.I used a wide flat screwdriver and a flat scraper to protect the paintwork even so it does seem a lot of pressure to be putting on the plastic lamp. There is a how to for this on here http://www.forum.fordmpv.com/smf2/mk3-galaxy-reference-library/ford-galaxy-front-side-lampfog-lamp-removal/ Quote
chromedome Posted February 26, 2015 Author Report Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks for the info chrispb123456. I'll give it a go when it gets a bit warmer. Quote
chromedome Posted March 8, 2015 Author Report Posted March 8, 2015 Could not do it. Removed the bottom bolt ok but could not prise out the light assembly without the fear of breaking something. I tried using plastic tyre levers. Quote
chromedome Posted March 10, 2015 Author Report Posted March 10, 2015 I've been advised by a Ford mechanic to try and gain access through the wheel arch by removing a panel. He said the light unit is known to be very difficult to remove. So I'm arranging for him to do it. :16: Quote
chrispb123456 Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 As said in the link to the other forum the O/S lamp is accessible from above after removing headlamp or through wheel arch liner, the left N/S lamp no choice you need to remove lamp because the washer bottle fills the whole gap. Quote
chromedome Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 Job done. You have to remove the panel underneath the bumper, 6 x 8mm, 3 x 10mm bolts and who clips in the centre. You can then get access to the rear of the light assembly, very fiddly on the passenger side due to the washer bottle being in the way. Fitted Osram LEDs with a diffuser fitted. They are a crisp white and not blue. Quote
chromedome Posted March 13, 2015 Author Report Posted March 13, 2015 I meant two clips not who ones........ Quote
