chromedome Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Just had a bit of a do with the Ford Dealer about the service on my PowerShift gearbox. I wanted to know why it was not picked up when booked in and also when the vehicle was put through the workshop. This looked like an error with their procedures until it was discovered that my particular PowerShift gearbox does not need the ATF and filter replacement, according to ETIS. Does anyone know if there are two types of this gearbox out there or am I being blinded with science? Thanks. Quote

chromedome Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 Hi Gregers. Thanks for the reply. They said they checked ETIS and my gearbox wasn't listed for the service schedule. Quote
chromedome Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 It seems I have the AF21 FWD Aisin-Warner gearbox. Quote
chrispb123456 Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Wasn't aware any gearbox was on the service list, only check for damage and leaks. Quote
chromedome Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Apparently the PowerShift has to have the ATF (7 litres) and filter changed every three years, or every 37.5k. Something to do with the ATF getting "burned" badly. Prices seem to vary from Edited February 12, 2015 by chromedome Quote
