Tim_021113 Posted February 8, 2015 Report Posted February 8, 2015 My Galaxy is making a strange groaning noise when turning right. The noise seems to come from somewhere around the nearside front wheel. It doesn't always happen if the car is lightly loaded or has no passengers, but it always happens if there is a front seat passenger. Apart from the noise the car is steering fine. Any suggestions as to a possible cause and any checks I can make would be appreciated. Quote

chrispb123456 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 If the noise is only when in motion turning right or round a roundabout then possibly N/S wheel bearing. Quote
Tim_021113 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Report Posted February 9, 2015 Thanks for all the replies. I'll start with the jack and silicone spray and see where it goes from there. Update to follow.... Quote
Rorie76 Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 There is a little metal cover on mine that sits around/near the bottom ball joint every time i turned right it would rub on the back of the disc and make a horrible noise.Got a screw driver and bent it away from the disc and hey presto no noises or strange looks when i drive round roundabouts. Tim_021113 Posted April 17, 2016 Author Report Posted April 17, 2016 Well, it only took me a year to get round to sorting this out, I just wish I had read FAQ no.2 sooner - it was the ARB drop links. I had both sides replaced, noise has gone away completely. Thanks again contributors for removing any potentially expensive guesswork. Quote
