Central Locking

Just changed the sharan for a galaxy so basically like for like .... But a couple of years newer and half the milage

 

The 1st problem I have with the new car is the drivers door won't lock from remote central locking or drivers door however will lock from the inside of the car or from the boot global lock

 

Any surgestions??

Check the wiring between the car and the doors.

 

Order advised by other members through experience.

Boot (right hand side gaiter)

Front Passenger Door

Rear Passenger Doors

 

You are looking for broken or short circuit wiring. If wires are broken insert an extra piece rather than joining the two ends together or it will break again. It's best to solder the connections.

If its not the wiring (though its most likly to be wiring related) it may be the motor itself has packed up - by operating it with the key or handle your effectively moving the parts the motor would otherwise be working. The wiring on the galaxy doors is known to be problematic though so rule that out first.

Bonnet catch not quiet connected so drivers door wouldn't lock!
