ahearder Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Hi all of a sudden there's no sound from the stereo any more I tried changing stereo and checked fuses but its not them. Does anyone have any ideas? Quote
BrianH Posted September 7, 2014 Report Posted September 7, 2014 Does the stereo appear to light up/operate at all? Its possible you have broken wires in the door gaiters though it would be surprising if all the speakers have managed to fail due to that. Unless maybe one has shorted out and managed to stop the stereo from working at all. Which unit are you using now? Quote
ahearder Posted September 14, 2014 Author Report Posted September 14, 2014 Yeh stereo carries on as usual its a philips cem3100 Quote
BrianH Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 Start by having a look at the door gaitors. Only other test i can think of is to check the resistance of the speaker coils starting at the connector to determine if the head unit appears to be at fault or if its blown speakers/wiring faults causing it. matmcn Posted October 4, 2014 Report Posted October 4, 2014 I had the tape head with a changer in the boot. The audio amplifier sits under the stereo on mine so if yours is the same then it could be that at fault. The stereo would seem ok even if the amp was faulty. Quote
