i know its been coverd so many times before , but i cant find what im looking for in faq  ...please advise on the best /powerfull battery for my  diesel 1.9 auy galaxy?.....ps wife got the last one from halfords but it is under spec.....3 years ago....and it wont go another winter

Did your wife not use the halfords book thing to look up the correct battery? I thought mine was on the way out but thought I'd try charging it rather than replacing it instead after it went flat after working on the car one weekend. Noticed a big improvement in it. Might be worth a go especially if you tend to do shorter journeys. The charger I got was a halfords fully auto one, looks like it's currently about

well my wife has this idea that she looks after all things house wise ,and i do the car...[ well you dont have a dog and bark your self do you]....the night in question ...i was late home from work ..and she did her best...as for the charge thing.....i have 2 maintenence chargers.....and they say its fully charged.....it just hasnt got the grunt to start a cold engine....all wires are good.....just need a good battery.......ps wife said the halfords man said the one she got was recommended for the car   630cc  . im going to get the bigest one that fits.....not from halfords...

Maybe it was recommended for the petrol. The halfords battery for the diesel's probably one of the biggest there and their cheap one's

halfords was the only local auto shop that was open at that time of day.......pain in the backside..as i know all the good motor factors in the area...but they are 9 to 5...thanks for the input chaps..im off to get the BIG ONE
