the last time I logged in I had some warning points! :glare: it's not the same without them :( I have them on our village forum and thats for saying that someones away with the fairies :lol: in a heated discussion about windfarms

so, who have I got to offend around here to get a warning?

Actually, after over 50 years that's got to be true but I think it was better when it was full of old fogeys in bath chairs. Unfortunately I'm one now. :(  :(

 

Not quite in a bath chair yet but I'm working on it. Just as soon as I find a nice nurse.  :P  :P  :P

funnily enough was having a chat with a lad of about 20 at my local golf course and he couldnt believe how much the place had changed  even in my time and im 45 now.all the districts have virtually merged now.

Back in the early 50s I can remember strolling around the town and seeing lots of holes where houses and hotels used to be but I haven't really seen much of the place since around the time when the mini trams went from near Princess Park. The old town doesn't seem to have changed much as the grandparents house up in Manvers Road looks much the same apart from all the cars parked there now. I can remember when our old Humber Super Snipe was the only car to be seen when we visited.  

I think my favourite memory was the glorious smell of roasting coffee beens while waiting for a bus outside the old station.

my mum got married in the 'squirrel pub'  the arndale shopping centre is built on it now.

Yes. We had a mini family gathering there a couple of years ago and food and staff were great.

but if you really want a carvery,the 1 in peacehaven is a blinding,think its a 'crown' jobbie. mmmmmm.

 

a few pubs round here that have gone over the years,the drive in old town and the tally ho,

the lottbridge has now been knocked down.all my old haunts have gone now.

I meant the site mumsy :rolleyes: how's that Kia going? my old neighbour runs up from south Wales to Kent every couple of weeks he can't believe how good it is on fuel it is but then after a 4 litre range rover anything must be better.

 

I changed the steel tubes recently that run to the rear heater as someone before he owned it had disconnected (bypassed) it, I used two lengths of heater hose to replace the bad section cost
