New Galaxy After Mine Caught Fire Yesterday

I had a bad day yesterday and the wiring loom caught fire while I was sat in traffic and as its well past its sell by date I'm looking at another

I've found a mk 2 diesel but it has a couple of issues

It's a pain to select 1st and reverse when cold

Knock from front when turning left

Any ideas what could cause this?

I've had four shalaxy mk 1s and know my way around them but never had a mk 2

Knock from front could be cv joint, driveshaft, worn track rod end, or anti roll bar drop links. The 1st/reverse could be air in the hydraulic clutch. I know mine was.

Also thought mk1 and 2 were more or less the same under the skin

they are samish just phase 2 has facelift and a pd engine. from cold could be fluid or wrong oil in box
