ACD1055 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Hello, Has anyone used this and if so whats your thoughts? The GAL sometimes lacks power like the turbo isn't kicking in more often that not uphills I and I have been told it could be a sticky turbo vane would you agree and if so would wynns turbo clearner unstick the vane? I'm not very machnically minded nor do I have the tools to try and take it off to clean / check and I dont have the cash to send it to a garage at this point in time so if a £10 can of cleaner will help I'll give it a try. Or do you have any other ideas what to test or check? CheersACD Quote
chrispb123456 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Have not used wynns cleaner but the instructions for the innotec turbo cleaner still requires an amount of dismantling, so suggest reading the instructions before buying as this may also require blocking of the turbo outlet. Quote
ACD1055 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 I did see that and I think its more than what I can do.. the wynns version says you need to spary it down the air intake pipe. Quote
chrispb123456 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Problem with spraying down the intake your not getting to the place where the problem is, the vanes are in the exhaust side of the turbo. Quote
ACD1055 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 oh right never mind.. I appericate your help. Quote
xavier Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Just an idea but might be worthwhile phoning up your local fast fit exhaust place and asking if they would do the innotec treatment for you. However this is only worth it if it is the vanes sticking (which would put the car into limp mode) rather than something else. Quote
cyborg Posted June 6, 2013 Report Posted June 6, 2013 Wynn's had to chuckle :) reminded me of this old advert. Check all your rubber pipes for leaks Then check the elbow on the driver's side intake piping they crack with age will need to be on ramp to check this . Quote
throbbinggristle Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 I'll have to get some of that, my daughter works in halfrauds Quote
