Hi to everyone

I have never used a forum before so this might not be the right section to post this if so then sorry in advanced,

My problem is i have a 2001 2.3 galaxy up until a week or so a go all was fine wntil i used my screen washer i did a good job at clearing my screen but it also locked my doors and made my indicators flash once.

so now i leave the car ovenight go to it in the morning nothing happens it starts fine and away i go.

i stop get out get back in put in key turn on ignition the all indicators flash the doors lock but the car starts and is perfectly driveable move trhe locks to the open position use washer again all locks down lights flash.

if i try the above with the derivers door open or the boot the car is normal but when i shut the door the problem is there again..

list of things i have tried

1.....gone through all fuses and there fine

2.....had towbar disconnected as there was corrosion on pins

3....checked all wires in door gaters for damage(nothing)

had an auto electrician look at it  he said in the steering column theres a pcb which is attached to my washer arm/leaver/switch which is arching causing the lights and doors to do what they do.

if whats said is true is it an easy fix? or is there anybody who has had the same problem or have any idea what could be causing it to happen,i did feel the guy just wanted the hourly rate and move on.

any advise would be greatful

thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.

This has all the classic signs of dodgy door/tailgate gaiter wiring, this causes all sorts of problems with the electrics

Also check the battery fuse box for overheating and the 3 amp fuse for continuity
