What Can It Be?

Hi Guys,

             I have a slight problem with my P reg V6 ghia. I have noticed what appears to be oil dripping into the passenger side rubber mat. It has the consistency of brake and clutch fluid and has a slight red tinge to it. However there is no smell to it. Has anyone any idea what it could be and where it could be coming from? I have checked the levels and they are all ok.

It maybe a leak in your heating matrix inside the car like a brown/orange colour like water consistency check your water level from time to time and see if it only appears at certain times i's when engine is hot/cold blowers are on/off

I will check because it doesnt do it all the time. I did a long journey this morning and nothing leaked, the a short journey this afternoon and there it was. It feels like oil if you rub it between your fingers though. I couldnt imagine how one of the engine fluids could get into the cabin area.

Dripping from what may give a clue.

Hi Chris,

            I cant tell where its coming from but it did it again this morning. I took note of the level on the expansion tank and after it happened the level had dropped slightly. I am going to put some Kseal in tomorrow and see what happens.

Would it be coming from the power steering that is that colour and consistancy?
