Argrdnr Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I have the same issue, a garage told me it COULD be an air leak from a pipe. Now I'm only going by what they said, which was, check all the pipes :/ Hmmm ok there's loads. I've ordered a MAF sensor and hoping it works Quote
Argrdnr Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Fault codes from the reader says its the MAF and EGR, well Diff pres feedback sens upstream hose off/plugged. Can I get cleaner for this? Quote
f0ster Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 hello you do not say what year type etc, I have had this on a 1995 diesel and it was the vacuum pipes feeding the manifold pressure sensor that is located behind the instruments it was blocked with oil and the pressure was finding it hard to get to the sensor, there can be other reasons for this fault, with the early models when it went in to limp mode it is possible to reset it by backing off the throttle, on the later ones the ignition has to be switched off Quote
BrianH Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Your picture is of the secondary air injection system as far as i can tell. If its a split pipe i'd start by looking at the one on the brake servo firstly as I've found mine had split. I also had the two pipes from the sai system that go up to the module near the battery fall apart although you would probabbly notice if they had gone as mine sounded like there was a large hole in the exhaust when those pipes split. Argrdnr Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Thanks Brian, every picture I've found tells me that the pic I uploaded looks alot like the EGR, I'm confused lol Quote
BrianH Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Have a look at this thread - this looks to be the diesel engine but at least should give a clue of where your looking to start with. Theres too much snow here to look on mine unfortunately. I'm not even sure without looking if mine even has one either. Your going to get people confused by posting your problem in other peoples threads - either continue your own or create a new one where necessaryhttp://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/18552-egr-valve-cleaning/ I can't find any posts on here mentioning egr and petrol that seem to be relevant but that could be down to the way i'm searching.
