Hi

I am new to the group and any help with this problem will be greatly recieved.

I have 2 galaxy's but i am having trouble with my 2001 model MKII.

My diagnostic scanner (Scantech) says it is connected but show nothing on screen.

The problem is i need to code a key as the original key got damaged and broke the chip.

I have taken it to ford who says that none of the systems are talking ( same as i got). Picking up a connected signal but not talking to either the ecu, abs, airbag or CAN line etc.

Have found online a wiring diagram of the standard diagnostic plug and found a possible difference.

The only thing i had to check this with was an Ohm's meter.

Listed was, Pin

2 - J1850 Bus+ ===No wire connected

3 - LS CAN Hi == No Signal

4 - CGND == Chassis ground ok but after 10 seconds when a relay clicks otherwise 19 Ohm

5 - SGND == Signal Ground OK but as chassis ground

6 - Can High == No Signal

7 - K - Line == 29 Ohm at all times

10 J1850 Bus- == No Wire

11 LS CAN Low == No Signal

14 CAN Low == No Signal

15 ISO 9141-2 L-Line == No Wire

16 12+ == 12V ok

Can any one tell me if what i got was right or how to test it properly please

Any help appreciated.

BTW all the car electrics are working perfectly ok.

Thanks

Jay

There is a poorly spliced joint (bunch of red and white wires twisted together) under the carpet n/s passenger footwell, worth a look as this causes a few problems, it the carpet has been wet from the disconnected rear washer pipe.
