snappy Posted November 7, 2012 Report Posted November 7, 2012 Ok, so I've had this relay thingy going click, click ...... clicking in my ear for a while now and it's been driving me bluddy nuts. I recon it's something to do with the AC system .... ? So today I got one a replacement from the scrappy in the post. Now all I need to do is fit it. Yea, right .... HELP ! If there is any help to be had by way of a diagram or pictures? I'd sure be grateful 'cause it looks like at first glance that grey panel and center console stuff is going to have to come away. Great :27: Quote

seatkid Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 What a wassock. :27: If you want a detailed step by step girly account of how to strip down your dash, then go and buy a haynes manual - not that that'll help you much but then using the search function of the forum or even "google" is probably too much effort for you... Despite the woefully inadequate information supplied, it seems its the icing sensor as fitted on the evaporator only on Ford petrol engined Galaxys (2.0/2.3L) Its could be clicking regularly because your evaporator is icing up frequently, possibly due to blocked drain tubes combined with low airflow through the evaporator. When it clicks, it'll stops the a/c compressor, until such time as the "ice" melts (temperature rises), or alternatively it could be faulty..... Good luck with the dash strip down. Quote
seatkid Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 wow indian snappy gone to sleep? Quote
snappy Posted November 8, 2012 Author Report Posted November 8, 2012 Yea mate snappy works nights. Well that's just it I have no idea where to begin. Often working blind on something like this you can break stuff because you take it down wrong or end up doing double the work. I've had Haynes manuals, lots of them. Rarely if ever did they ever seem to answer the questions I had and more often than not the pix were totally crap too. So if recon I need to find a thread on dash strip down then. I'll look for that. For me the dash is the upper part but I suppose may well include the lower bit as well. Actually my description is quite accurate. I have or at least had before you replied no idea what the heck that thing was. I do know that it's damaged as the thing clicks as I drive and if I move it around I can make it do the same, so it's a damaged wire I'd have thought. At least I know what it is and what it does now. I guess I'll now go off in search of some threads for dash strip down. Cheers Quote
chrispb123456 Posted November 8, 2012 Report Posted November 8, 2012 There is detailed instructions on here (do a search) for removing dash, you only need to remove the lower section and the passenger air bag according to the TIS manual. Quote

xavier Posted December 9, 2012 Report Posted December 9, 2012 Just an idea but why not cut the old one off, strip the ends of the wires and either crimp some connectors on or use an electrical connector strip connector to wire in the new one? Thats if you just want to replace the relay of course. Quote
