Hi

I have a problem with my 1.9TD Auto.

While in drive and stationary with the foot brake applied the car jerks forward, It seems to be a intermittent fault as it doesn't always happen.

If the handbrake is on it doesn't happen only when the brake pedal is pressed.

Anyone else had this problem.

The brake light switch also places box in neutral when waiting to pull away, check your brake lights are working correctly, other than that you will have to scan for fault codes as an incorrectly running engine will affect signals sent to transmission ecu

My Mk2 Galaxy has been doing the same thing intermitantly, I've got VCDS so I checked the fault memory and no faults are shown. You can check the operation of the switch as the Mk2 has what they call staionary decoupling where it stops the drive from the box to save fuel. I looked at the readings I had some time ago and I think the amout of movement required to go from the first to the second stage has decreased. My thought is to replace the switch and retry so I'll update when I have done this.

Best wishes

Dave
