Idle Control Valve

just a thought

im diagnosing (or have been) my girlfriends 1997 ford galaxy 2.0 petrol

i've removed the icv valve a couple of times now and it appears to move freely and look clean etc

but

i've just wondered what state the piston inside the valve should be in when removed?

i noticed it was a few mm away from the closed position

can anyone tell me if this is correct

Should be closed against spring pressure

well i ordered new idle control valve anyway, just to be sure

unfortunately the car still behaves the same

so ive just ordered a MASS
