I have had a strange problem lately. No error codes at all when using diagnostic tool. Ford Galaxy 2002, 115hp 1.9 TDI.

Suddenly one morning, my window wipers were`nt working at all. At the same time, the coupe fan was not possible to controll from the klimatronic panel, and the warming threads in both front and rear window was not able to turn on or off. No light in the buttons at all. All three things working or not working at all times. I do not get the problem after I have started the car. If the three things is working, they work until I turn off the car again. But if I start the car, and the three things doesn`t work, they can suddenly just start working after 1 minute or 1 hour after I have driven the car for a little or a long while. It has went longer and longer time between the time is works now the past month, and it is really frustrating, especially not to have the wipers working.

This is definetly an electrical issue, since everything is working perfectly when it suddenly desides to work for a little while. The wipers runs easy and smoothly, the coupe fan is blowing strong and good, and the warming threads works both in front and rear.

I jumpstarted an Audi S2 a couple of times a couple of monthes ago, and i suspect that this can have caused the extremely sensitively electric mire in the Galaxy to flip.

I have called several Ford dealersworkshops, but none of them has experienced that all these three things stop working at the same time, and think that this is a weird electrical fault. They tell me that it can probably not be just a relay, since all three things is supposed to have one relay on each circuit, and it is weird if three relays gets fubared at the same time.

They also thought it was weird if it was the ignitionlock since faults there probably would have fubared up more electrical stuff.

They talked about that it could be some bad connection to earth somewhere, but this is so insanely hard for me to find out, and it breakes my heart and wallet to put my LOVELY car into a workshop which costs 142 pounds an hour for just checking someTHING for several hours.

Has ANYBODY had any problems which are about the same, or has ANYBODY got any good suggestions what to check?

This is maybe the most frustrating fault I`ve ever had on any car. PLS help :)

Long shot here, have a look at the smaller wires on the battery terminals, you may have loosened/broke these while using jump leads also check the fuse box by the battery for meltdown, also check fuse 33 in the main fuse box in car.

Hi, and thx for the reply :)

I have dismantled the wires on the battery, brushed them with sandpaper to ensure there is good contact, and tightened them again very good. Both earth and 12v contactpoints on the battery. The contactboxfusebox in front of the battery with 4-5 12v cables are checked and everyone is tight and clean.

The fuse box at the driver seat is completely checked with a multimeter, found 1 broken fuse to the ac, but that didn`t change anything when I replaced it with a new one.

I am afraid that the problem sits further and deeper into the cablenet :) Any other suggestions?? I have not checked any relays, and I don`t know what relay which is related to the things I have problem with either.. Frustrating!!

All those functions are controlled by K149 Load Reduction Relay.
