Engine Speed At 70mph

Hi can anyone help?

 

I have a mk2 galaxy 2.8 v6 5 speed auto, I would expect such a large engine to be purring at 70mph but mine is doing 3000rpm. Does this sound right?

are the revs to speed the same in auto and in tiptronic my 1.9tdiauto mk1 at 70 rev counter is lower than speedo in lock up mine is AG4 box though non tiptronic will up date next time i'm on motorway

OK update

 

mine at 70mph is revving at 2700 rpm but mine is a 1.9tdi 110bhp auto

diesels rev less the petrols so 3000 at 70 might be right for yours
