Vince8637 Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Hi all, I appreciate this may have been covered in previous posts but searching has not led me to an answer so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful. The autobox on my Galaxy tdi (2004) is stuck in first gear and will not change; reverse is fine though. Ive had people tell me it will cost Quote

chromedome Posted May 9, 2012 Report Posted May 9, 2012 You could try this. Make sure you have your radio code and then disconnect the battery for about half an hour. Reconnect and then try, it may be the gearbox ECU. The wiring between the ECU and gearbox has been known to wear through so check this also. Quote

Someone has also mentioned that if the gearbox oil level is low this could happen, is that possible? Vince Quote
chromedome Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Yes it's also worth getting the ATF changed or topped up. The level has to be checked when the ATF is at a certain temperature, do a search for more information. Quote
