jonstone Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Hi all, my first post in the forum. I have a Mk1 2.3 Galaxy with 250,000 miles, and the fuel bill is not good. A friend of mine has offered his 03 1.9TDI 115 with 90,000 miles to me for the trade-in he would get for it. How do I tell it's a really a 115? Reason for me doubting is that the T, D and I letters on the boot are red, and there is no KW figure on the V5. The model type (from the V5) is GALAXY ZETEC TDDI (yes it does have two Ds).The variant is ASZ1The version is 7A Q The CO2 is 170g/km - which is less than the 178 that I thought the 115 was? can anyone help? thanksjonthanksjon Quote

Mirez Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Its a 150 - an early one, hence its a ASZ1 code and not a BTB code and why Etis shows it as a 130. Quote
bigdave982 Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Hi allsince mirez is back and sharing his immense knowledge with us(very much appreciated here mirez!!)I just checked my V5 and have varient Auy1 is this a 115cheers dave Quote

Mirez Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Hi Dave, I'm more skulking then back lol but yes, yours is indeed a 115PS engine. Whilst the AUY code refers to the VW 115PS engine, the early engines ECU was mapped so it only produced 285nm of torque. This was subsequently lifted to 310Nm (the engine most of us are familiar with). AUY1 was Ford's way of saying at the time that it was the later/revised 115 with 310Nm of torque. Quote
bigdave982 Posted March 30, 2012 Report Posted March 30, 2012 Damn hoped it mightve been 130:-) Quote
jonstone Posted March 31, 2012 Author Report Posted March 31, 2012 Mirez - thanks. Are you sure it might be an early 150?? I have purchased the car now. Are there any mechnical/visual clues to differentiate it from a 130? jon Quote
