Hazard Lights With Mind Of Their Own

I am the owner of a Galaxy 05 whose hazard lights seem to come on when they feel like. It does not happen all the time but when they do, they come on faster than normal and cannot be switched off by hazard switch only when car is stopped and key out. When they are on none of the electric windows work. I had replaced the key batteries two months ago as the remote key had stopped working, this again doesnt work so am having to insert key to operate the central locking. Any ideas would be much appreciated as it is driving me mad.
