Just bought a new passenger side cup holder to replace a broken one, BUT, how do they come off? The new one dosn't seem to have any screws etc.

Anyone changed one?

On my mark 2, the cup holders are held in place by plastic lugs. One on either side at the top. You will need something that is very thin to push (carefully) between the top of the cup holder and the fascia surround. Once the lugs are released the cup holders normally pull out completely.

I don't know if the procedure is the same for mark 1's but you can try.

Hi,

just to update,

Took about 10 minutes to replace the passenger side cup holder on the Mk1 Gal :-)

Lift up gear stick surround, undo 2 philips screws, then pull out ash tray and housing, undo 2 more philips screws. Lift away console and click out the cup holder from the bottom. Re-place in reverse order. Happy days

Kev.
