galaxy Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Hi all. Interesting one here. My wipers are not working on my MkII galaxy. The fuse is good and no sound of a relay when i switch them on. The garage are pretty sure its the motor and a VW quote is around Quote

galaxy Posted February 16, 2012 Author Report Posted February 16, 2012 Check fuse 33 it's not marked for wipers but does affect there operation. What a lifesaver. I had started dismantling before i checked for replies but did not go too far. Checked fuse 33 and it had failed (10 amp and should be a 30amp). Replaced it and my wipers work again!!Why is it listed as blower?? Anyway, thanks for your help. Saved me a load of aggro! Paul Quote

GarryB Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Hi - I agree this is a life saver. Fault was of my own making. Been sorting out another fault and had the fuse box lid off. My fault fixed and several days later noticed the wipers weren't working. Well as above back wiper worked when stork pulled forwad for washers. Ocassionally the fornt wiper also worked once so wasn't looking for fuse issue. Then I read this....I checked for fuse 33...it wasn't in. Use another 10A fuse in its place and away they went. I then found a "spare" fuse in the tray under the fuse box. Somehow in my other work I'd dislodged fuse 33. I have no idea how! Still fuse in and happy days. Top post above! Thanks! Garry Quote
