Hi Folks,

Just my luck. Last week I was using this really useful site to diagnose an alarm problem then things just got worse.

Driving on a day out with the family on Saturday I suddenly found our Galaxy (2002 Mk2 1.9TDi Zetec) going into permanent Limp Mode.

Then about 1 mile further on I started to hear a lot of noise coming from below.

Pulled over to the side immediately and had a look under the hood to find no oil in the car.

Walked to the local garage and filled up about half-way with oil and turned on engine to smoke (mainly white) coming from exhaust and still some metal on metal noise coming from below when I lightly rev'd engine.

Got onto RAC and recovery tech confirmed what he thought was a turbo gone, so got towed back to local garage.

Garage have reported back today that the turbo is goosed and have quoted

Get it reconditioned, keep it as a spare or sell it once done, as it stands. it's worthless.
