Davehillbo Posted November 30, 2011 Author Report Posted November 30, 2011 The Mk1 is not wired for diagnostics on the booster heater, so if your "new" MK 2 heater needs codes clearing you cant do it Ahh ok, so If there were any codes that needed clearning how would one do it :), i dont think there are but if there were. Bigjeeze Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 I have twice changed the glow plug on my MK2 and neither time have I had to clear codes or do anything other than put it together and watch it fire up! Quote

bigdave982 Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Hi all thought id update on my saga! i had previously cleared the codes with no joy ,but now remember seeing a measuring block reading of about 1500c ,which seemd a bit high to me !When i strippped it and found i had he plug with wires on there was a bare bit where the insulation was missing (earthing out?),so taped it up and stuck it all back together ,cleared codes agian and its been working since at outside temps of 13c and below. Im prepared to accept that maybe a temp sensor is wrong so will live with that Its only been getting short runs but today went further ,running ariund for about 45 mins .Coming back over the dartford bridge heard a "pop" from the rear n/s, thought it was a coke bottle expanding to be honest ! ,next thing i know cars full of smoke ,its coming up thru the seatbelt in the n/s door pillar .Time to panic ! Checked and no fire got home plugged it in agian and forget to write down the codes ,one was flameout and the other i think was something about a blower, cleared them sat there with the car idling watching the meas blocks go up then down as temp of around 74c was reached do you gurus think I should be ok the leave it connected or just unplug it and freeze, obviously dont want a burnt out car ps wheres Miraz lately?? gregers Posted December 1, 2011 Report Posted December 1, 2011 i had this with mine when i 1st got it,for some strange reason 1 of the pipes seems to disapere up under the cill area, the smoke iirc came out from the passenger seat belt area.i did post about it years back on here, cant remember what the dealer told me they had done, but it came back to me all working as it should.
