hi guys n gals, hope u can?

been having problems with the wipers stalling and 1 not fully working!

cut a long story short.....both pins have seized(that old chestnut) and because the motor got replaced by the previous owner recently, it has proved to be stronger then the linkage arms and one has started to crack. i have tried to unsieze it but have now snapped it clean off where it joins the arm onthe bend.....can this be welded or does anyone have a spare linkage close to chester?

thanks

they are worst in the world i think you have to get second hand/new linkages motors way to small for the huge arms they have to swing ive striped mine down twice now filed the bugger out of spindles wont sieze now!!! loads of waterproof grease.thing is motor and design of linkage is absolute rubbish apart from that car is brilliant just hope it dont rain !!!ha ha ...

I doubt very much that the alloy that the spindle housings are made from will weld. The answer is to find a good secondhand assembly, try breakers or fleabay.

As marcostig says, the design is very poor, it relies on a tiny o-ring at the top of the spindle to seal the grease in... the tiniest bit of wear in the bearing and the seal is minced to bits. The chrome plating on the spindle shafts wears and starts to flake off, this picks up in the bearing material and siezes the whole thing solid.

Search for alfredcorsa on ebay, I've just had some bits at a not too bad price, theyre breaking various gals atm. You could also try Heggie a member on here.
