i have a 2001 ford galaxy 1.9 tdi the very last of the older mark 1 version on a x reg

the car has been standing for a month or so, and the battery went dead, so i charged it up and the car started ok

now a week later the car will not start, it will not turn over at all

the red light on the door flashes

all the lights come on the dash, just will not turn over

the car was running fine before no problems

Hi and welcome to the forum

Remove your battery from the car and charge it for at least 48 hours (you cant test a flat battery) then take it to any tyre/battery outlet and let them discharge test it.

You may need a new one.

i will try recharing the battery again but for a longer period like 48hrs

i connected a fault code reader and it came back as a immobilesr fault - engine blocked from starting by immobliser

the redlight light on the door flashes, also the glow plug light flashes as well

strange thing i took off both postive and negative battery leads and connected them together for a reset (away from battery)

the car never started right away, but left it for a few hours and it restatarted again

the next day it started ok, drove a couple of miles and parked back up, but then back to nothing when i turned the engine off

now i'm back again to nothing when i turn the starter, door light flashing, glow plug flashing
