ggobin Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 Hi All - i have an problem with my alternator on my TDI 1.9 AUY 2003 Galaxy, its only giving 9.1v. i can not see the where the part number is - and there seems to be no why to check online - can anyone advise how i get the correct number? Do i attempt to look at / repair the unit (ie the rectifier) or just replace with a new or refurb unit? ( only just replace the clutch pulley too ;) ) Many ThanksGary Quote
seatkid Posted October 23, 2011 Report Posted October 23, 2011 On mine its on the the plastic end housing of the alternatorThe top number, I think, is the Bosch part number, the other is the SEAT/VAG Part no. Quote
chrispb123456 Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Just a thought before you go changing the alternator, have you checked the large cables for burning in the auxiliary fuse box by the battery. Quote
ggobin Posted October 24, 2011 Author Report Posted October 24, 2011 Thanks. Looks like my end hosing is missing. It's certainly a Bosch Will check the cables and post a pic to see if that helps. Gary Quote
