Hi and welcome to the forum

A faulty relay 30 will not stop the engine turning over, it cuts power to ignition and injectors.

You need to be looking at starter inhibiter switch as you have an auto, check on starter that your getting 12 volt to the starter solenoid when turning key to start position other things to look at are wiring connections to starter, faulty ignition switch or even faulty starter.

thanks for the info, it was working fine then all ov a sudden it would take 5 mins to turn the engine then 10 mins 20 mins then it just did not turn the engine at all,

Hi chrispb123456,

is quite correct there is a starter inhibit switch on your auto transmission lever, it is adjustable via a small grub screw on the top (you need to remove the handle, plastic trim and you will see it it is in the top of the black plastic switch in my picture below.Be careful you only need to turn the screw in by small adjustments as its brass and is easyly damaged

the other possibility is the starter is knacker ed

which would explain the progressively longer time to start as the starter is pulling too many amps !!
